Here is a simple idea that everyone should try who uses Google adsense. Change your settings so that you show only Image ads. Then track the results. See whether or not a) your click-through-rate goes up and b) the amount you receive per click goes up. I recently did a quick experiment with my site and found that both went up (even though the ads seem less targetted than the text ads).
